Learning Lab Hiatus

It’s been interesting, that’s for sure.

Since starting in 2023, the Learning Lab has unpacked, explored, mentored and coached many people in the areas of explicit, direct instruction (EDI) and Science of Learning (SoL).

We have created lesson slides, data trackers, curriculum descriptors… and even lesson modelling videos for use all over Victoria, especially for the teaching of Inquiry and Writing.

This year, The Learning Scientist’s school has embarked on its own journey with Science of Learning and EDI and while the school undergoes that change, it is increasingly challenging to continue creating resources and advice for others which conflict with TLS’ own professional obligations.

The Learning Lab will be undergoing repurposing eventually – and it might come back as what it once was. Who knows?

In the meantime…

Resources were removed in April 2025.
Glossary was removed in April 2025.
Videos were removed in February 2025.

For now, a link to the Science of Learning Research Centre has been placed at the top of the page. We hope that answers any SoL questions you have for the time being.

We still monitor our contact form. If you have any questions, we don’t guarantee an answer, but it is still possible.
